What Is HEAD HONCHO?

HEAD HONCHO is the office simulator for those who want to rip their head off during a 9 to 5. Except, instead of this severe decapitation killing you, imagine it helping your workers. In this cartoony tycoon, take the role of Accounting Senior Supervisor, "Head Honcho", as you manage the everchanging accounting department at your company, MLM Corp. With the power to wear any common office item as a head, lead your team to victory as you meet each revenue quota throughout a typical fiscal year.

Is a coworker taking a nap or working too slowly?

Overload them with coffee to wake them up and make them work faster than usual.

Is your worker burnt out and working too fast?

Blow them! Cool them off with the power of your Air Conditioning Head.

Is a pesky upper management member sneaking into your work environment to stress your staff?

Shoo them away with corporate revenue-driven lingo, using the "Briefcase filled with money" Head.

Head Honcho is here to save the day for MLM Corp! Will you be the one to help him?

GODOT WILD JAM 65 - OVERLOAD

Design 

HEAD HONCHO was made and submitted as part of the 65th Godot Wild Jam. The theme for this jam was Overload. As part of this theme, the duo at Hangover Sunshine thought about the typical office environment, and how sometimes, you may end up crunching and having an "overload" of work to do. This led to the idea of having the player be a manager who can make their workers produce revenue faster (potentially overloading them with work to the point of burnout and workforce unionization).

Running on Mac

To comply with the Godot Wild Jam specifications, we provide three builds: Windows, Mac, and Linux. Windows and Linux work out of the box with no issues, but for Mac users there is a slightly different process. When you run the game, you will be stopped by Gatekeeper. Once this happens, go to Settings > Search ("Gate Keeper") > Security > Allow Head Honcho to Run. Once you click that, it will pop up with a similar warning and press "Open."
