PIRATE SOFTWARE GAME JAM 15 - SHADOWS & ALCHEMY
Design
KALEIDOKILL was made and submitted as part of the 15th Pirate Software Jam. The theme for this jam was "Shadows & Alchemy." Inspired by this theme, the duo at Hangover Sunshine explored the two themes more literally. By making the player a shadow that must stay within a certain distance of their host and by including a cauldron that allows the character to combine and transform themselves into a stronger being through alchemy, the game captures the spirit of the jam.

Had fun! I like the ending, I especially like reading dialogue like a hag lol
Would love the attack to be more noticeably upgraded. Would've loved a full directional spread.
Cheers <3
Whaddup?
Glad you enjoyed the game and ty for the feedback! We'll keep fiddling around with that melee attack. Would be cool to have some crazy spread on that guy.
Appreciate your enjoyment of the ending.
Cheers!

Very colorful, though the "lighting" dulls the vibrant colors it could have.
Additionally, a bit of feedback of the colors going from the shadow into the pot would have made things a lot clearer as the numbers going up visually did not match what i thought i was doing(it does, but i initially did not make the connection).
I like the concept of having the defend the hag, would have liked to see collecting colors (or doing well in general) would have her change/do something.
The idea to make the colorful friendly looking creatures the enemy is quite fun.
Nice job.
Yo!
Thanks so much for giving our game a try and shooting us some feedback. Def agree with the color needing a bit more love. Hoping with the next update to look into a way to get all those colors popping in tandem with the light (versus looking dull). Could only figure out how to get a couple things glowing due to performance issues with web.
We'll also get some sort of indication for transferring color to the pot. Def a bit muted. Like the idea of the witch doing something as well! We'll look into it and brainstorm something for the next push.
Again, thanks for giving our game a try!

hey I tried you game too! I think you dont need to use "real lighting" to let something glow. using just more vibrant colors+ like a "halo"which is actually just a round sprite behind it would work too i think
Oooooo, I'll have to try that! Def want enemies and all the other bits to have some glow as well. Thanks for the tip!
